A frosty portal has popped up in the Plaza and, for the next few weeks, it opens onto a snowy floating island full of puzzles, cocoa and seasonal décor. The Winter Floating Festival runs from January 7 to January 28, 2026 — and it’s designed to be a bite-sized, brain-teasing holiday detour inside Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to get there (quickly)

You have two simple options: walk up to the portal in the Plaza and interact with it, or open the Events menu and hit the Teleport button on the Winter Floating Festival page. Once you’re on the island you can return to the Valley with the wishing well or use the fast‑travel well near the festival entrance.

A few housekeeping notes before you wander off: the island is a static event space — decorations can’t be edited, some Royal Tools won’t work, and DreamSnaps can’t be submitted while you’re visiting.

What’s live and when

The festival staggers content across the event so there’s always something new to log in for:

  • January 7: Frosty Rabbit, Winter Chocolate Fountain, Winter Combination Pillar puzzles available
  • January 14: Street Lamps puzzle unlocks
  • January 21: Frosty Fortress (the Snowman quiz) unlocks
  • Complete all five puzzles by January 28 to collect the event rewards.

Puzzles and the rewards they hide

Each puzzle hands out a seasonal item you can place or wear back in your Valley:

  • Frosty Rabbit → Taupe Winter Hat
  • Winter Chocolate Fountain → Winter Chocolate Fountain furniture
  • Winter Combination Pillar → Dapper Snowman furniture
  • Street Lamps → Printed Winter Leggings
  • Frosty Fortress (Snowman quiz) → Taupe Winter Coat
  • Below are practical tips for solving the three puzzles available at launch plus what to expect when the others open.

Frosty Rabbit — daily cocoa for a memory

An oversized frosty rabbit bops around the festival grounds with a sweet tooth. Feed it Festive Hot Cocoa on four separate days to collect memory shards and reveal a hidden dig spot. The café’s little blackboard lists the daily cocoa special, and following that schedule guarantees you won’t give the wrong drink.

There are three Festive Hot Cocoa recipes you’ll use across the festival:

  • Festive Blueberry Hot Cocoa: Festive Cocoa Bean + Sugarcane + Milk + Blueberry
  • Festive Cherry Hot Cocoa: Festive Cocoa Bean + Sugarcane + Milk + Cherry
  • Festive Mint Hot Cocoa: Festive Cocoa Bean + Sugarcane + Milk + Mint
  • Most ingredients spawn on the Winter Floating Island (Festive Cocoa Beans near a picnic blanket, sugarcane around the carousel/pond, and the various fruit and herb spawns around the grounds). Milk must be purchased from Remy’s (Chez Remy) in the Plaza or pulled from your Valley stock. If you don’t have a milk supply on hand, plan a quick run back to the Valley.

Feed the rabbit once per day for four days and open the revealed memory’s dig spot to get the Taupe Winter Hat.

Winter Chocolate Fountain — exact combos matter

The fountain sits near the middle of the island and has three slots. A hint inside the café tells you what to pour in: the fountain wants specific counts of each Festive Hot Cocoa type. The required totals players have reported are:

  • 10 Festive Cherry Hot Cocoa
  • 15 Festive Blueberry Hot Cocoa
  • 20 Festive Mint Hot Cocoa
  • Cook the required drinks at any cooking station (there’s one near the bridge close to the fast-travel well). Then transfer them from your inventory into the fountain’s slots; the game moves the correct amounts for you. Fill all three and a reward pouch will spawn — open it for the Winter Chocolate Fountain furniture.

Ingredient respawns are generous but finite, so gather methodically: Festive Cocoa Beans and sugarcane respawn on the island (and some berry/tree spawns are rare), while Milk comes from Remy. If you’re short, give it time — spawns refresh often — or use what’s in your Valley stash.

Winter Combination Pillar — count the hats

Scattered snowmen are the clues. Count the different hat styles (bow, top hat, cap, beanie) and match them to the carved pillars’ numbers. The working combination reported by players is:

  • 1 → Bow
  • 2 → Top Hat
  • 3 → Cap
  • 4 → Beanie
  • Enter that order on the pillars and the Dapper Snowman appears inside the pouch that spawns.

Street Lamps (Jan 14) and Frosty Fortress (Jan 21)

Street Lamps: when this unlocks the lamps around the island will go dark and you’ll need to find and supply the correct items to restore their glow. Repair every lamp to claim the Printed Winter Leggings.

Frosty Fortress: step inside the cozy fortress and a Snowgies Plushie will quiz you. Answer the quiz correctly to earn the Taupe Winter Coat. Both puzzles are designed to encourage repeat visits, so mark your calendar for mid- and late‑event unlocks.

A few practical tips and where the festival fits

  • If you’re short on ingredients, bring Milk from Chez Remy before you teleport; it saves back-and-forth trips.
  • The island’s design prevents full tool usage and editing, but you can still interact with puzzle-related props and furniture.
  • Log in daily during the event window — some rewards require returning on separate days.

If you’re playing across systems or dabbling with cloud features, recent platform-level developments have made streaming and remote play more convenient; for example, the PlayStation Portal's new streaming and the buzz around Nintendo's Switch 2 momentum are part of that broader shift in how players access seasonal events. If you want smooth performance on console, consider a higher-end machine like the PlayStation 5 Pro for local play.

The Winter Floating Festival is a compact, cozy event — equal parts scavenger hunt and brainteaser — and it rewards a mix of cosmetic gear and decorative furniture you’ll want to place back home in the Valley. Pop in, sip some cocoa, solve some puzzles, and don’t forget to snag those timed unlocks before the portal closes on January 28.
